The Hanuman Sakthi Jagaran Samithi (HSJS) organised a Koti Hanuman Chalisa parayana yagna here at PWD Grounds on Sunday. People turned up in good numbers to participate in the yagna organised by the Samithi, a new outfit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP).
They rendered Hanuman Chalisa, and yagna was performed in which tens of couples participated and offered oblations as vedic scholars recited hymns and matras. The yagna parayanam included tens of couples at nine yagna kundas and songs and dances in praise of Lord Rama.
Spiritual leaders from various places attended the yagna, and addressed the public meeting which was organised on sidelines of yagna. Siva Chaitanya Mataji of Chaitanya Tapovan, Brahmachari Siva Swami of Maha Saiva Kshetram in Tallayapalem, Atukuri Venkateswara Yogi of Mangalagiri, Sampatkumara Ramanuja Jeeyar of Ashthakshari Peetham, Yamuna Das Babaji of Sri Bhagavat Das Babaji Mutt, Kanugovi Vasudevacharya of Uttaradi Mutt and others addressed the gathering.
The programme was organised to propitiate Lord Hanuman, and seek his blessings in constructing the ‘Bhavya Mandir' at Ayodhya. VHP leaders including Praveen Togadia, and Gokaraju Gangaraju, Samithi Vijayawada president Garlapati Prasada Rao, Samithi poorva Andhra president Annadanam Chidambara Sastry and others spoke.
